American sound designer David Fienup of Web shop Soundopolis has released his latest sound library: Icy Snow (147 sounds, 266 megabytes, $20.00).
The result of a sleet and freezing rain storm in Fienup’s native state of Michigan, Icy Snow features an interesting approach to a snow sound library. The storm created a crust of ice over the existing snow. This situation provided a unique aspect to the crunches, crushes, debris, and slides in the sound bundle.
Fienup captured all tracks with a Sound Devices 702T and a Røde NT–4, and you can hear the quality in the SoundCloud preview, below:
