Field recordist Watson Wu has just released a new firearms sound library: Rifles & Pistols of the World Wars (587 sounds, 823 megabytes, $199.00).
Wu is well known for his firearm, cannon, explosion and high-performance vehicle recordings. Wu brings his experience contributing sound clips for Assassin’s Creed, The Need for Speed franchise as well as clients such as Lexus, the NBA, and the NHL to record the new collection.
Notably, the sound library includes gunshot recordings at four perspectives: close, medium, far, and incoming perspectives. The bundle features shots and Foley moves from the following authentic World War weapons:
Rifles:

- M1 Carbine
- M1 Garand
- Mauser
- Mosin Nagant (long and short)
Pistols:
- 1911
- Luger
- Smith & Wesson 1915
- Smith & Wesson 1917
- Walther PPK
- Webley
