Los Angeles sound designer Jeremy Rogers has just launched his new Web store: The Sound Keeper. Their first offering is a sound fx collection of heavy-hitting fight clips: Punch Sound Effects Combo Pack (138 sounds, 780 megabytes, $125.00).
Built from “an extensive study of punches from the past 100 years,” Rogers described how his first offering came about:
As a professional sound designer, I find there are never enough punches in my libraries. You can use punch type material for bigger impacts, or stronger attacks, or just about anything! I wasn’t happy with what was out there, so I decided to go on a journey to produce all those great punch and impact sounds I need for work! Along the way, I discovered some great techniques and sounds for all types of fighting and combat situations.
The Punch sound library features more than just fist impacts. In addition to punches, it includes tracks such as:
- Kicks.
- Hits.
- Grabs.
- Blocks.
- Whooshes.
The sound library packages both processed “Hollywood” punches built ready-to-go, as well as raw elements that you can process yourself. Interestingly, Rogers broke down the processed versions into a number of styles:
- Classic (Bruce Lee, Indiana Jones, etc.)
- Modern (Netflix’s Daredevil, John Wick, etc.)
- Matrix-style.
- …and others.
The Punch Sound Effects Combo Pack includes over 750 sounds. You can hear the heavy and thick aspect to the sounds in the SoundCloud audio demo.
The Punches collection is offered in a complete library of both processed and raw sounds. The Sound Keeper also allows each version to be purchased separately.
