Field recordist Tim Prebble of Web store HISS and a ROAR has just released a new sound fx library: Quadcopter UAV Drone (33 sounds, 7.8 gigabytes, $99 on sale for $49).
Recorded at 192 kHz/24-bit with a range of microphones include a Sennheiser 8020, 8040, and 8050 microphones as well as an airborne Sony D100 portable unit, the collection captures the sound of three styles of drones. Prebble explains:
This library is the result of a total of ten recording sessions with three specific UAVs:

- A tiny CX10 toy quadcopter.
Take off, hover, passbys at various speeds & proximities, close movement, ascent, descent and overhead perspectives as well as landing are all covered in this library, as well as onboard DJI P3.
Each file includes multiple takes of a particular performance, such as:
- Start and revs.
- Moves.
- Pass by at various speeds.
- Onboard.
- Ascent.
- Descent.
