Field recordist Michael Raphael has teamed up with game audio directory Rob Bridgett to offer a new sound fx library on the Rabbit Ears Audio Web shop: Port of Call (8.45 gigabytes, $129.00 on sale for $99).
The collection highlights ambiences from the bustling port of St. John’s harbour, in Newfoundland.
Rabbit Ears Audio has gathered the field recordings into three distinct sections:
-
Distant ambiences. Longer, atmospheric takes of dock activity at a distance. These tracks are presented in quad and stereo.

Dockside containers. More detailed activity of work on the docks. It includes sounds of machinery, container movment, metal banging, and more.

-
Ship horns. A variety of ship horn honks, including a “ship horn symposium” performance.
And, finally, here’s a sample of the boat horn sound fx:
The Port of Call collection is currently on sale for $99, a savings of $30.
