French Web shop Red Libraries has released a new sound design collection: Unknown Pass By (190 sounds, 709 megabytes, $40).
Created by sound designers Frederic Devanlay and Cedric Denooz, the collection was designed to provide a series of “unclassifiable objects, but with a natural aspect and texture” for science fiction, fantasy, and horror projects.
So, the elements are sourced from diverse real-world field recordings, such as toasters, garden hoses, ratchets, and trolleys. Textures have been created from metal, wood, and plastic. Water and wind sounds have also contributed to the clips, as well.
You’ll hear buzzing pass bys, hollow swipes, creepy vocal swooshes, fluttering passes, gritty bys, glimmering sweeps, and more, all at a variety of speeds.
