Brandon Seyboth has just released an interesting sound fx package of animal sounds: Post-Surgery Cat Vocals (62 sounds, 0.040 gigabytes, Free).
The free sound clip collection features meows and groans from Seyboth’s cat. The feline’s voice, recovering from a recent surgery, was strained and scratchy. Seyboth captured 62 mono 192 kHz/24-bit clips.
Seyboth cautions that environmental difficulties while recording the cat resulted in clips not up to his regular quality standards. However, I enjoyed them. They could certainly be used as sweeteners for sound design. And, Seyboth has generously contributed them free of charge, so there’s little downside in adding them to your editing arsenal.
