Last year The Recordist Web store underwent a major redesign. Just recently the store’s legacy sound collections returned to its inventory. Two releases are available: Jet Airliner Interior (28 sounds, 1.1 gigabytes, $35.00) and Special Edition (1030 sounds, 1.420 gigabytes, $125.00).
Field recordist Frank Bry of The Recordist Web shop has a long field recording resume. The Sound Vault collections feature his best work from his legacy recordings captured at 48 or 44.1 kHz.
Such gems include the aircraft interior field recordings in Jet Airliner Interior. It’s not so easy to capture pure sound fx in aircraft these days. Luckily, The Recordist gathered almost 30 sounds from jet airliners, totalling over 1 gig for $35: a Boeing 757 a Boeing 737, a Mcdonnell Douglas DC–10, and a Mcdonnell Douglas MD–80. They’re notable in that they captured the sound of aircraft before sound dampening became more prevalent in modern times.

The Special Edition Sound Vault takes a different approach. It is a collection of varied sound effects gathered together. It includes:
- Science fiction.
- Doors and industry.
- Aviation.
- Maximum impact.
- Natural elements.
Clips are provided in 44.1 kHz, 16-bit, complete with Soundminer metadata. It’s ideal as a starter library.
There are a number of SoundCloud previews available for the collection. Here’s a preview of the sci-fi sound fx:
