Sound Effects Search now includes audio previews with all independent sound library search results. Our software streams the audio directly from the publisher’s SoundCloud preview.
This helps visitors get a good impression of a sound effects library. It increases the likelihood that they will click the library link, visit your website, and purchase the sound libraries.
How To Add Your Audio Previews
Are you a sound library publisher? How can you ensure your sound library has an audio demo in our search results? Well, every one of current sound libraries is already taken care of. For future libraries you’ll need just one thing: a SoundCloud ID.
How to Find Your SoundCloud ID
The SoundCloud ID is different from the SoundCloud page Web address, or its embed code. Instead, it is a unique number associated with every track on SoundCloud. Here’s how you find it and add it to new Sound Effects Search libraries:
- Log into your SoundCloud account.
- Find your track.
-
Click the track’s sharing button. That’s the one of the box with an arrow pointing out of it.
-
Sharing options will appear. Click Embed.
-
Copy the number after the “tracks” text in the Code text field. This is the SoundCloud ID. Note: you will have to click and drag right to see this code.
Enabling Preview Sharing
Now that you have your SoundCloud ID, you’ll have to ensure that Sound Effects Search can preview it. Here’s how:
- Log into your SoundCloud account.
- Find your track.
-
Click the edit button. It looks like a pencil.
-
A new page will appear. Click the Permissions text.
-
A new page will appear. Ensure that Enable app playback is checked. This ensures that our software can stream your preview montage audio. Note: this only allows playback of your audio outside of SoundCloud. It grants no other access or permissions.
How to Add the SoundCloud ID
This part is easy.
- Visit the Add a Sound Library page on Sound Effects Search.
-
Type the number in the SoundCloud ID Number field.
- Complete the rest of the sound library information.
- Click the Submit button.
That’s it! Sound Effects Search takes care of the rest. A small audio preview button will appear beside each of your sound libraries.
Fixing Problems
Here are some common issues and resolutions:
-
The audio preview doesn’t display
: make sure you have turned on your track’s Enable app playback settings in SoundCloud. Also check to ensure that the SoundCloud ID is correct. Please note: the SoundCloud API allows only single files to be shared this way, so unfortunately a SoundCloud ID for a playlist won’t work.
- You don’t want your previews on Sound Effects Search: simply turn off Enable app playback.
